Hi Guys,
An old friend and loyal reader, frustrated with what she sees happening in our country, asked me the other day; Ed…what can we do?
My initial response: Vote, speak out, protest, resist.
And here is an action we can all take right now:
Don’t let the government silence the press!
This administration is already acting to defund public broadcasting, and has called for the FCC to revoke the licenses of “fake news” media outlets, such as NBC and ABC. This is not a “potential” threat, or something that is happening “somewhere else.” This is a real threat, and it is happening right here, right now.

What Can You Do?

 

  • Subscribe to your local newspaper—they can’t survive without you.
  • Even if you don’t watch or listen, contribute to your local public broadcasting outlets. Think of it like buying banned books!
  • Support national news organizations — The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, etc., you choose—that try to get it right, even if you don’t always agree with them. Online subscriptions are cheap, and they send a message:
    Reliable, Independent news is vital!
